CLAT or The Common Law Admission Test is that the gateway exam to 17 of the distinguished law universities within the country. CLAT is that the equivalent of CAT examination except for law. The test basically helps decide if one has what it takes to become a lawyer or not. The examination was established in 1988 by the National Law University in Bangalore. Through public litigation, CLAT got centralized with the primary edition of CLAT being conducted at NLU Bangalore back in 2008. Currently, there are over 17 NLUs participating within the CLAT exam.
Exam Format The test paper is for 200 marks and is split into 5 sections with each question carrying 1 mark. The examination also has negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answer. The duration of the examination is 2 hours.
